5 Positive Resolutions for 2012

It's that time. When we all look at our lives and figure out what we'd like to fix or improve about ourselves. Most of the time we make resolutions to take on what we see as negatives in our lives, but this year I'm pledging to do something different. No more damn depressing resolutions that reinforce something not so great about me.

Instead, I'm going to focus on the things I love and enjoy about me and my life and pledge to do them more often. To embrace more joy in life and in myself.

Instead of thinking of things as changes, I want to think of them as doing more of what I love. For instance, instead of creating a resolution to look more put together at work since sometimes I do find myself rushing through getting ready and feel frumpy, I'll instead say that I would like to wear more scarves and other accessories in 2012. I love scarves and have tons of awesome jewelry, shoes and bags so by adding more of these to my outfits everyday I'll be much happier. And look more put together. But the focus is on being happy!

So with that in mind, here are my 2012 Resolutions:

  1. Accessorize Everyday - I'll wear something special to put a smile on my face all day
  2. Take More Baths - I'll take advantage of my awesome tub and really girly-girly it up with bubbles, face masks, hair masks, etc. Don't forget the wine and a great book!
  3. Sunset Walks With Hubby - The Husband. Fresh air. Unplugged. Lovely Neighborhood and Conversation. What's not to love!
  4. Wear THE Shoes & Bags - I bought them. I love them. I'll wear them, be happy and forget the price tags.
  5. Be Adventurous in the Kitchen - I love to cook and want to try out new recipes every week.
What about you - What positive things do you love that you want to pledge to do more of in 2012? Put a positive spin and attitude on changes you can make with a good outlook that will take care of some of those not so great parts of your life.

Introducing Belle & Clive...

A few weeks ago I recieved an email from BlueFly asking me to RSVP for Belle & Clive - it was kind of mysterious and not much information was provided, but knowing how much I love BlueFly, I signed up.

Afterwards I discovered more details on Belle & Clive and am super excited that they are officially launching their site today at 11am!

So who the hell is Belle & Clive? It's a new flash sale site. And yes, I know...another one right? What is exciting and different about Belle & Clive is that first off, they are affiliated with BlueFly and that's a major plus for me. Secondly, based on photos they tweeted from their lauch party last night it looks like they will be carrying some major brands. LV, Hermes, etc. Now that is something different and special.

I also ran across this Racked article on Belle & Clive that highlights the top 5 things you'll love about Belle & Clive - click here to go read the awesome details on Racked. Hint: They seem to have fixed some of the pet peeves I have with other flash sale sites!

After 11am EST, stop by Belle & Clive's website and check it out!

Lauren Conrad's Sweet & Sexy Hair Tutorial

There's something about Lauren Conrad that just resonates with me. It's not only her sense of style or amazing eye liner and flawless face, it's also her hair. She's not afraid to try new styles all the time to match the style of her latest outfit and I love that.

So, you can imagine how pleased I was to run across this mini tutorial for a really sweet but sexy retro look. It's Veronica Lake made modern.

I'm not sure who originally posted this image on Tumblr, but I reblogged it from GlamAttractions.

I'm in love with the entire look, from the perfect curls to the red lip I wish I could rock with as much confidence, she looks really for a glamorous night out!

She also makes it look so much easier than I'm sure it is. I've never found dealing with a curling iron to be successful for me. Hot rollers always seem to make the curl last longer.

What about you? Would you try this look and if so, does a curling iron work with your hair? How long does the curl last and would you recommend your iron?
